The Blue Bell Foundation for Cats is a nonprofit organization that manages a “retirement home” for cats whose owners can no longer care for them. Blue Bell started as a boarding facility for cats in the early 1960s and today provides loving lifetime care for its feline residents, and peace of mind to those who entrust their cats to Blue Bell.
Blue Bell cats reside in a vintage cottage, which has been converted to a fully licensed facility, located in rustic Laguna Canyon. The cats have free rein throughout their cozy cage-free home, which offers cushy bedding, cat trees, and climbing and perching areas. Spacious enclosed patios complete with fountains, a cat playhouse and climbers provide Blue Bell residents with plenty of fresh air, outdoor scenery, bird watching and lounging.
Blue Bell includes a separate “special needs” facility for cats with medical or behavioral issues, and is where new resident cats initially acclimate to their new home. The cats interact daily with volunteers and staff who provide lots of love, affection and playtime. Veterinary care is provided by Canyon Animal Hospital located within minutes of Blue Bell.
