Vermont Family Forest Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to whole forest ecosystem health, conservation, management, and culture in a changing climate and challenging economy.
We accomplish our work through hands-on education, citizen science, demonstration, research collaboration, and application of optimal conservation practices.
Our vision has four central parts:
To observe, understand, and conserve forest ecosystem health;
To practice earth-centered conservation that is holistic, compassionate, scientific, site-specific, and adaptive in quest of an optimal land ethic;
To support careful management of local family forests for ecological, economic, and social benefits; and
To foster a wholehearted forest culture focusing on community well-being, ecological resilience, mutual aid, landholder empowerment, and re-enchantment of the watersheds of home.
