Reviving California’s rivers and floodplains since 1998

River Partners is a social entrepreneurship non-profit that tackles California’s droughts and floods by integrating agriculture and habitat restoration.

We are the only California non-profit that does field work on the ground to acquire, restore and protect riverside habitat on a large scale. Our experience, track record, and entrepreneurial practices have resulted in developing and executing habitat restoration in a highly challenging agricultural, regulatory and ecological environment.

We save enough water for 35,000 Californians per year for every 1,000 acres restored.

River Partners successfully executes large scale restoration projects that bring rivers and floodplains back to life, resulting in native flora and fauna flourishing in harmony. We strategically plant vegetation to enhance wildlife habitat, protect biodiversity, and improve water quality as it flows downstream—and eventually out of our faucets.

Environmental Justice:

Every project River Partners restores enhances the lives of underserved people in towns and cities along 13 western rivers. We have revived the land next to these low-income communities and provided jobs, open space, and outdoor recreational facilities. The clean water San Franciscans drink comes from the Tuolumne River and flows past some of these communities as it makes its way to the Bay Area.
