David and Rosalind Katz, owners of My Friend’s Place, opened the first location in Sandy Springs, Georgia in 1980. Recognizing the area’s need for a restaurant that would provide fast, healthy meals, they began with a simple menu of homemade Egg, Chicken and Tuna Salads. The name was chosen in appreciation of their friends’ ongoing support and generosity during the creation of the concept, and also to reflect the comfortable and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant.
