CHARLIE DENT NAMED DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS OF WILLIAM ALLEN HIGH SCHOOL The Honorable Charles W. Dent was named a distinguished alumnus of William Allen High School (WAHS) at commencement on June 17 at PPL Center. A member of the WAHS Class of 1978, Charlie went on to earn a degree in Foreign Service and International Politics from The Pennsylvania State University in 1982 and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Lehigh University in 1993. He held office in both the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate before being elected and then sworn in to the United States House of Representatives in January 2005. He is currently serving his sixth-term and represents Pennsylvania’s 15th District, which includes all or parts of Berks, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lehigh, and Northampton counties. Congressman Dent currently serves as the Chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee for the House Appropriations Committee. He also serves on the Appropriation Committee's Subcommittees on State and Foreign Operations and on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. Charlie is a life-long Lehigh Valley resident. He was raised in Allentown by his parents, Marjorie and the late Walter R. "Pete" Dent, a Bethlehem Steel employee. Charlie and his wife Pamela live in Allentown with their three children, Kathryn, William, and Jack. Congratulations.

RICH SNISCAK NAMED DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS OF LOUIS E. DIERUFF HIGH SCHOOL Superintendent Richard T. Sniscak was named a distinguished alumnus of Dieruff High School at its commencement June 16 at PPL Center. A member of the Class of 1980, Rich received the Kiska Award for an Outstanding Male Scholar Athlete. He attended The Military College of South Carolina, commonly known as The Citadel, on a full athletic scholarship and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Education. Sniscak earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership as well as a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility Certificate from Lehigh University. Throughout his life, which has been devoted to public education, he has taught mathematics at Dieruff and William Allen High School, served as an Assistant Principal at Allen, and also served as a High School Principal, Athletic Director, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of the Parkland School District. He just completed his sixth year as Parkland’s Superintendent of Schools. Additionally, he has coached baseball at Dieruff High School and served as head football coach at Allen and Parkland, leading his teams to numerous championships and being named District 11 Coach of the Year in 1996. Sniscak currently resides in Schnecksville with his wife, Michele. Congratulations.
