Church of The Good Shepherd
The Church of the Good Shepherd has served the City of Rahway since 1836 as the former St. Paul’s and 1870 as the former Church of the Holy Comforter. In 2008 it began its new ministry as the Church of the Good Shepherd. The parish attends the spiritual and pastoral needs in Rahway and its neighboring central New Jersey towns of Avenel, Carteret, Clark, Colonia, Edison, Linden & Woodbridge. The parish is a small yet vibrant community, ethnically diverse, with Americans of African, English, German, Italian, Irish, Russian, Scottish descent, as well as, those born in Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru and the Virgin Islands among others.
