Tony's #tipfortuesday on February 7, 2017 Be aware of two things when replacing your starter: First, check that your starter and ring gear match. There are two key differences in gear shape which are shown visually in Lycoming Service Instruction 1121 and listed by part number in Lycoming Service Instruction 1141A. Second, be sure you have the proper clearance in accordance with Lycoming Service Instruction 1447B. If the clearance is wrong, you may need a shim. We have uploaded scans of the Service Instructions for reference. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1200010080094972.1073741828.136829673079690&type=1&l=8c6e31cc5b

Leroy was a great man whose absence is deeply felt. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Allinger family. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/adn/obituary.aspx?n=leroy-n-allinger&pid=183616082
Throwback Thursday: Leroy Allinger inspecting cylinders. Leroy worked for Alaskan Aircraft Engines doing build up and inspection for 25+ years, and worked in aviation in Alaska for more years than that. #throwbackthursday #tbt

Early picture of John Alsworth. Forty years ago, John began repairing airplane engines professionally in Alaska. In the intervening years, he added some mechanics, moved between locations, and expanded our facility. Most recently we completed significant construction in the form of a hangar complex next to our existing location. All in the interest of providing the best service possible in the inspection, repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and accessories. Congratulations on 40 Years, John!! #throwbackthursday #40years
