Bernard F Duhon LTD Attorney

Bernard F. Duhon was born in Abbeville in 1952. He graduated from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 1974 and a Jurist Doctor Degree in 1977. While at the university he was a member of Student Senate, Director of Student Legal Aid and University Ombudsman.

Bernard is licensed to practice law in all Louisiana State and Federal courts. His focus is on PROBATE, SUCCESSIONS, WILLS, TRUSTS, REAL ESTATE, PROPERTY, FAMILY TRANSFERS AND PARTITION, LANDOWNER OIL & GAS, CORPORATE, BUSINESS NEEDS AND SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY

Bernard has represented and chaired Municipal Civil Service Boards. He was a City Judge from 1988-2010 and prosecutor from 1979-1988. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Society for Achieving a Personal Injury Jury Verdict in excess of One Million ($1,000, ) Dollars. Bernard has lectured professional landmen on “Representing the Landowner in Oil and Gas Transactions”. He also sponsored and lectured at “The Peoples Law School”.

Bernard F. Duhon is a charter member, and past board of director of the Louisiana Society of Hospital Attorneys and member of the American and Louisiana Association of Justice since 1978. He also belongs to the American and Louisiana Bar Associations.

His civic associations include being a Board Member, French-Acadian Music Festival, past offices were; chairman of the Vermilion Parish Democratic Executive Committee, president of the Vermilion Parish Bar Association, Cajun Cyclist Bicycle Club, and the Abbeville Rotary Club. He is a certified cycling instructor. Mr. Duhon is also a proud sponsor of Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and KRVS Radio Acadie.
