WJP ENGINEERS is a Consulting Engineering and Surveying Firm with offices at 1406 Laurel Boulevard in Pottsville, PA. The firm was founded in 1986 and is celebrating 30 years of providing professional engineering service to Schuylkill County and the surrounding area.

For the past 30 years, WJP Engineers has been involved in many significant developments. These have included land and site development projects, residential projects, building projects, energy and anthracite coal industry developments, dam rehabilitation, and municipal engineering accomplishments.

WJP has completed numerous land and site development projects at Highridge Business Park including, Lowe’s, Wegman’s, Sara Lee, and Jeld-Wen sites. Residential projects have included Norwegian Woods in Norwegian Township and Chestnut Hill in North Manheim Township.

Recent building projects include design services for the improvements to the Bob Weaver Car Dealerships and the newly renovated Schuylkill County Children and Youth Services building.

WJP Engineers has a significant presence in the energy and anthracite coal industries, providing engineering services to numerous coal companies and power plants in the area. The firm provided the civil engineering and survey services for the Locust Ridge Wind Farm.

WJP has completed multiple dam rehabilitation projects including the County Sweet Arrow Lake Project. The firm also provides municipal engineering services to various local municipalities.

WJP Engineers was organized by William J. Parulis, a Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor. The firm's professional staff also includes Richard N. Yutko, an Architectural Engineer; Dorothy A. Sterner, an Environmental Engineer; and Gary S. Ryan, a Professional Land Surveyor.

Additional WJP staff members include: Dave Kruel, Environmental Technician; Michael Gipe and Joe Blyler, Drafting Technicians; Thomas Schoffstall, Land Surveyor; and Cathy Buchinsky, Clerical Staff.

Active professionally and locally, the employees of WJP are members of the National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors, National Society of Architectural Engineers, Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, Pennsylvania Builders Association, and Schuylkill Builders Association.

Architectural Engineering Services
WJP offers clients concept-to-completion services in Architectural Engineering. Services include commercial and industrial building design and renovation plans; building inspection; and cost estimating. Construction contract administration, bid analysis, and on-site inspections are also offered.

Civil Engineering Services
Civil engineering services by WJP Engineers include roadway design, bridge design, storm drainage, sanitary sewage treatment, sewer systems and pump stations, water treatment and distribution systems, erosion and sediment control facilities, land use planning and site development.

Environmental Engineering Services
WJP provides services in environmental issues including: waterway and flood plain encroachment, water quality, sanitary and industrial wastewater treatment design, storm water facilities, erosion and sediment control, wetland delineations and mitigation.

Mining Engineering Services
WJP Engineers has considerable expertise in mining related areas, including mine planning, permitting and regulatory compliance.

Survey Services
Survey services include property surveys, subdivision planning, topographic surveys, volumetric surveys, aerial mapping and construction stakeout. WJP owns and maintains a GPS Virtual Reference Station, part of the KeyNET Global Positioning System Network. The network offers subscribers faster, more accurate GPS results using a network of fixed base stations located throughout Eastern PA.
