Little Prince of Oregon

Since our establishment in 1997, Little Prince of Oregon Nursery has been committed to producing premium quality plants. We are a wholesale nursery located in Aurora, Oregon. Our plant offerings include perennials, ground cover, NW natives, succulents, herbs, ornamental grasses, and rare and unusual plants. We sell our plants under several brand categories: GROUND CONTROL®, NATIVE GROUND®, WATER MISERS®, BLADES OF GLORY®, FIT FOR A KING®, and others. We cater to retail garden centers, wholesale nurseries and the landscape trade.

In the beginning, two life-long friends, Ketch de Kanter and Brett Francis wanted to start a business and create a happy place to work. Our goal was to make a modest living and still be able to spend quality time with our families.

Our first employee, Cosmo the dog, has since left us and will be forever known as the crew’s best friend. He lived a great life of 15 years and will be missed. As most dog owners know, it is difficult to let go of a dog that has become your friend and family member.

Little Prince now employs over 30 people. In addition to our hard working crew, Michael Hicks, our Head Grower, signed on in 2006 and Reggie Hunter joined us in the office in 2008. Ryan Seely joined us as Sales Manager in 2011. Brett Francis left LPO in 2007, but remains a good friend and consultant.

In 1997, we started with 15,000 square feet of greenhouse space. We doubled that by 2002. In 2006, we expanded from 5 to 20 acres. In 2008, we added a 30,000 square foot gutter connect greenhouse with a cooling system. We use this as our plug and stock house. Currently, we have a total of 160,000 square feet of greenhouse space.

Looking forward, we are constantly working to eliminate availability problems by accurately estimating demand and forecasting future trends. We are working on developing Little Prince into a brand that will become a household name in the gardening community. Most importantly, we are committed to contributing to our customer’s success. Our plants won’t croak!
