In 1885 Hans Jacob Jepsen, great-grandfather of Howard Hammond, traveled to America from Denmark on the immigrant ship “ Moravia .” Within a few years he settled in Easton , CA and became the pioneer of Hammond family grape farming. Today three generations of Hammonds continue the farming heritage in Fresno , CA and through the production of Moravia wines.
