In addition to building strong collaborative partnerships, Burroughs works directly with individuals by offering low or no-cost literacy and enrichment programs. We take pride in our ability to be flexible and respond to requests from the community. Volunteers teach many of our classes.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers free tax help to lower income residents, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.
Adult Language and Literacy, in partnership with the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Bridgeport, strives to help our neighbors acquire the oral and literacy skills necessary to be successful in the workplace, participate in the education of their children, and lead productive lives.
Computer Center Tutoring offers access to updated computers as well as personalized computer support to allow the participant to define their own learning objectives and focus on the skills they need to develop at their own pace.
Our Woven Community (OWC) provides refugee women the chance to become self-sufficient leaders, take pride in their heritage, integrate into the community, and become empowered with entrepreneurial skills and economic opportunity. By learning how to sew, they create handbags and scarves that are sold at craft fairs and holiday events. Proceeds benefit the women and help support the program.
Fitness, Arts, Recreation and Wellness programs are periodically offered to local residents. These activities are organized and led by area volunteers motivated by their passion to share their expertise with others in the community.
Community Garden has over 24 garden beds available to the community. Participants have access to their garden any time to grow their own fruits, vegetable, flowers and herbs. It also supports our local food pantry by donating fresh vegetables.
Beyond our programs, we offer facility and meeting space for over 70 community organizations.
