Our school was formed and incorporated in the fall of 1953 by parents feeling the need for a cooperative nursery school. They began with morning sessions and a weekly night meeting for parents at the Cupertino Youth Center. In 1955, the Cupertino Nursery School was included in the Adult Education Program of the FUHSD, with the district assuming the expense of salaries for the school’s staff. In 1957, Cupertino High School made a building on its campus available to our school, thus making morning and afternoon sessions possible with an expanded staff and doubled enrollment. This building was reclaimed in the spring of 1964, and the high school district made another building available at the Blaney school site on Homestead Road. In the spring of 1986, our school was moved to its present location on the Fremont High School campus. In the summer of 1992, our school was awarded accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We were the first center in the City of Sunnyvale to be accredited and have achieved re-accreditation in 1995, 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2013.
