Family History -
in 1918, Anthony A. Bianco at the age of eighteen years of age made his way to New York From Avellino, Italy, a small town outside of Naples, to pursue the American Dream. Anthony Bianco started to learn his trade on the streets of New York as a fruit peddler. In just a few years, he opened a marketing and distribution company on the New York Produce Market. In 1942, Anthony Bianco moved his family to Fresno, California. Anthony was looking for a better place to raise his eight children and be closer to the grapes and other tree fruit that he would marketing through his New York Office. In 1950, Mr. Bianco formed a Partnership with Bi-Mor Farms, which was a growing entity, and thus created Bianco Fruit Corp., Their marketing company. At this time, his four sons started to work with their father in the family business, each having different responsibilities from field operations to marketing. In 1960, New Yorker Magazine proclaimed Anthony A. Bianco the "Juice Grape king of the United States". This title earned him the Key to the City of Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1967, Anthony A Bianco passed away. Four years later, his sons started Anthony Vineyards with 160 acres of grape vineyards, fulfilling their father's dream for his sons. In the early 1980's , the two youngest sons, Domenick "Cookie" and Bobby Bianco took over the day to day operations. Anthony Vineyards was primarily a farming operation for many years. Then in 1995, they began to market their own fruit and thus became a fully vertically integrated company. In 2002, Anthony Vineyards started growing organic grapes and today is one of the leaders in the organic grape category under the brand "Anthony's Organic.
