ATUGR (Amalgamated Transit Union Local 836) shared an event.
On Thursday, October 26th we resume negotiations. The Union tried for a much earlier date than that but was denied it. The day before bargaining is the Rapid Board meeting. Please come down and show your support and ask the Rapid Board to come to terms with the ATU with a fair Contract offer. Even if you don't speak your time is enough. https://www.facebook.com/events/1727423997349396/?ti=cl
We the Community and Rapid Employees. Have been to the Walker,Wyoming,Kentwood ,Grandville, East Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids city commission meetings and have been promised by the city commissions that they will tell their appointees to the ITP board to seek an end to their Union Busting and Give ATU 836 A fair contract. Now we seek what we have been promised and will demand that the appointees to The Rapid board of directors honor their prospective city commissions and give us a fair contract. The day before negotiations start.

Recently Equity PAC decided to endorse the transit millage. While doing so they decided to say some very disrespectful things about our Union. Here is President RiChard Jackson's response. Please Share.

A Ratification Vote update: yesterday we had another Ratification vote on the latest proposals sent to us by mgmngt. This latest proposal attempted to clarify the loss of seniority clause but didn't change their daily overtime proposal. The Union had sent over a counter proposal on Wednesday after attempting to negotiate on Tuesday. The company never responded to our counter proposal so we voted on what they sent to us. The vote ended with 97 % voting against Ratification. If you have any questions regarding this vote please feel free to email me at petericketson@gmail.com or respond here. Thank you.

Just an FYI: there will be meeting on Sunday September 24th at 4pm at the Union hall and we will have a vote regarding the Tentative Agreement. You must be in good standing to vote. Please share.

Good morning Yesterday at bargaining was somewhat productive. The union came in and made some proposals based on the information from surveying the entire bargaining unit. Wages, insurance (to include HSA (language in the contract), daily O.T. Etc. The company came back with a counter, which really only attempted to clarify certain issues, loss of seniority, some of the language on arbitration, bringing new employees up to their appropriate wage rates upon ratification, but not much else. So, we ended the day after that, and will have a counter proposal back to them this morning.
