Alma Family Services contributed to "a conversation on immigration and mental health" at the Roosevelt High Schools' Riders for Love and Justice Rally. Alma staff shared stress reduction techniques and other mental health resources in partnership with Promessa Pastoral, Planned Parenthood, Students United, the Latino Equality Alliance and several other Community Based Organizations committed to informing and empowering LAUSD students.

Alma Staff participated in the Building Healthy Communities Posada at The Wellness Center, hosting Dr. Mitch Katz, Director of the Los Angeles County Healthy Agency. At The Wellness Center (TWC) Alma offers comprehensive mental health services, Gang Reduction & Youth Development Services (GRYD) funded by the Los Angeles Mayor's Office, and chronic disease prevention and management services, a collaborative project provided by TWC and Alma's Integrated Care Program (ICP-ISM). Tuesdays this October through November, Alma Family Services at The Wellness Center is hosting special, free Information & Support Groups for people to learn about services. Child Care and snacks will be provided. Come back it out!

Alma participated in the State Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez' Empowerment Congress community forum in East Los Angeles alongside the LAC Sheriffs' Department and County Council. Alma staff supported the coordination of student interns and volunteers from Cal State LA and provided a presentation on mental health services and resources, facilitating a discussion with residents on ways to promote healthier and safer communities.
