The mission of the Harrington Library Consortium is to strengthen and promote excellent library services among our member libraries. The Consortium provides library automation products and services, training and continuing education, exploration of innovative technologies and products, and library business intelligence for informed decision-making. The Consortium helps realize the potential of its member libraries through resource sharing, cost savings, and member collaboration. The consortium supports our members as information and technology literacy providers for their citizens.
HLC currently licenses Sirsi Dynix Symphony for member libraries. Training, help desk, and technical support are all included as part of the yearly membership fee based on the number of user names appropriate for each library. Start-up cost is based on vendor negotiated price. Retrospective conversion is included in the startup cost. Patrons that have an HLC member library card may check out materials at any other HLC Member library.
HLC offers so much more than an ILS System. Databases such as Britannica, Tumblebooks, along with eBooks, Audiobooks and Videos from Bibliotheca Cloud Library. We also do price negotiations for products such as computers, software, library cards and barcodes.
