In 1946, Powder Horn Outfitters was founded by George Dieruf in Bozeman, MT. George's mission was to serve hunters, fisherman and outdoors people with the very best of authentic products and knowledgeable service. In 1974, Schnee's was founded by Steve and Jean Schnee. What initially began as a small, local cobbler shop and shoe store has grown to become one of the most widely recognized names in the outdoor footwear world, thanks largely in part to the Schnee's brand of premium boots that are still manufactured in Bozeman, MT. Today, Schnee's and Powder Horn Outfitters have combined to provide our customers with an unsurpassed spectrum of best-of-breed footwear, clothing and gear through our three Bozeman retail store locations, our full-service website and our mail-order catalog.
