In 2005, Bill Dean started Docks by Dean which sold and installed docks and lifts for residential properties. By 2006, Docks by Dean was also installing vinyl seawalls for their clients. The company was a great success and by 2010, Bill was able to expand his offerings even further by adding outdoor hillside tram systems, also known as High Bank Trams.
In the fall of 2013, Bill had the opportunity to purchase a long standing marine company, Newaygo Marine. With this acquisition came the ability to sell Sanger boats, Pontoons, Paddle Boats, Rafts and more. It also opened up the doors for a larger service department and both indoor and outdoor boat storage.
Today both companies (Docks by Deans and Newaygo Marine) are known as Newaygo Marine.
