Throwback (to 2009) Thursday. Demolition of the United Church of Christ - Congregational to make way for the expansion of the Belmond Medical Center. The congregation will celebrate its 150th anniversary Sunday in the church on West Main Street.

Way Back When Wednesday. Here is an item from this week's WBW: 1977 - The community of Belmond has once again been named the beneficiary of the bulk of an estate of one of its leading citizens. The last will and testament of George Heginger, long-time businessman who died March 5, has been admitted to probate. It was revealed that more than $455,000 of his $579,000 estate will go to specific beneficiaries of a public, educational and charitable nature within the community.

Way Back When Wednesday. Here is an item from this week's WBW: 2007 - Gabby Parks finished the 4K cross country course at last Tuesday’s B-K invitational in 20:05, for a 20th place individual finish and a seventh place team finish in the Class B section of the meet. Jake Reichenauer ran to a time of 20:24 for the 3.1 mile course, good for a 14th place individual finish and a fourth place team finish in the Class B section of the meet. He would be one of three Broncos to finish in the top 20 of the race.
