Ballet Academy East

Ballet Academy East was founded in 1979.
The school's programs include:
● Pre-Professional Ballet Division for ages 7-18 for students aspiring towards professional careers in ballet. Admission is by audition.
● Pre-Professional Two-Week August Summer Intensive Course.
● Pre-ballet, Tap and Modern for ages 3-6, Petit Dancer Classes for 18-35 months
● "Summerdance" for ages 4-10. A full-day, 8 week summer course combining learning and fun through varied and creative activities centering on the arts.
● Enrichment classes for children who wish to study ballet recreationally. No audition is required.
● Open Classes: Adult Ballet, Tap, Yoga, Zumba, Pilates and Modern – all levels

BAE Pre-Professional Division Faculty:
●The faculty is led by artistic director Darla Hoover and includes Maxim Beloserkovsky, Cynthia Birdwell, Olga Dvorovenko, Peter Frame, Gonzalo Garcia, Jenna Lavin, Joseph Malbrough,Francis Patrelle, Elizabeth Walker, Wendy Whelan and Cheryl Yeager. The permanent guest faculty includes Nicholas Ade and Stacy Caddell. Modern Jamie Rae Walker.
●The curriculum includes technique, pas de deux, variations, stretch, men’s weight training, modern and character.

BAE Student Company:
●The BAE Student Company was formed in 2003 to provide vital performing opportunities to the aspiring dancers of BAE’s Pre-Professional Ballet Division. The Company performs twice annually, in February and May. The BAE Student Company is able to accept tax-deductible donations through Unique Projects, Inc., a subsidiary of Pentacle/DanceWorks.
