The Learning Web’s Youth Exploration Program offers Tompkins County youth ages 12-20 hands-on learning opportunities in the community. Through guided apprenticeships, career and community exploration activities and community service projects, youth develop their skills, interests and knowledge of the world of adult roles and responsibilities. Youth Outreach, a program within The Learning Web, assists homeless and transient young people age 16-24 to move from a state of dependence to self-sufficiency. Using the tools of housing, employment, education, parenting, home keeping, managing finances, and virtually all of the components of independent living, youth are assisted in moving from instability to stability. Combining experiential learning, case management, life skills training and a supported housing program, youth gain the skills to live successful and economically self-sufficient adult lives. The Learning Web is a United Way agency
