In 1978, Herb Hart moved to Arroyo Grande from the Los Angeles area, representing a legacy of experience as the fourth generation of electrical contractors in his family. After 16 years, he had worked his way through several leadership positions at one of the top ten electrical contracting companies in the state, doing commercial, high-rise and industrial projects. What he really wanted, though, was to go into business for himself. So, he started HM Hart Electric.
In 1959, Herb apprenticed with his father, gaining experience on projects in theaters and studios in Southern California, and upgrading them to take advantage of the new video and sound of the day. If asked, he will tell you that is where you learn the trade: working with people who know what they’re doing.
Herb continues to uphold certain values instilled in him that guide HM Hart Electric today: excellence in everything they do and a commitment to helping their fellow man.
