Andrew Smith worked in advertising for more than 15 years before he decided in 2011 to go for it and launch his own agency. He had been part of big and small corporate and agency teams and knew he wanted to build a different kind of work environment than any of those that he had known. He wanted his company to feel different, to inspire and nurture creativity, spur innovation, and be a place where he could share his enthusiasm and vision for advertising communications with both colleagues and clients.
Reality is sinking in: his team and business are growing. Headquartered in modernized, loft-like space in Richmond’s funky and historic Shockoe Bottom, initiate-it is a vibrant place.
