Bear Pond Winery was established in 2000 near the beginning of the Susquehanna River and across from Goodyear Lake. The vineyard was started the same year on a gentle hillside on the property. It is comprised of approximately one acre consisting of varietals ranging from Riesling, Concord, Niagara and Gewürztraminer as well as others. The purpose of the variety of plantings in such a small vineyard was to determine which grapes grow well at our location. Our intention for the vineyard is to expand into more of the six acres we have available. We do now and will continue to rely on local New York State growers to provide us with grapes for our production needs. Bear Pond Winery is open to the public seven days a week. We offer year-round tastings of our wines as well as other New York State wines. No reservations are required unless groups of 15 or more. Currently the winery does not offer a tour of the facility. Unfortunately we are unable to do so due to space restrictions. We would sincerely love to show what we do and how we do it.
