PSI offers a series of entrepreneurial seminars throughout California that teach the fundamentals of process serving, the laws that govern service of process and completing proof of service. We also cover other specific topics: *Service of prejudgment and post-judgment writs *Preparing affidavits and proofs of service *How to start, maintain, and market a process serving business *Service by publication *Difficult process serving assignments
We also conduct dinner events covering specific topics. We have an annual What's New for Process Server Dinner in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and another city every January to go over the new laws, appellate decisions, forms, and the latest issues concerning process servers. We regularly have a dinner event with a criminal lawyer to discuss issues involving process serving, such as felony assault and battery on a process server, making a citizen arrest, trespass, and gathering preserving evidence to defend or prosecute a criminal incident involving a service.
