During the fall of 2002, the ownership of AFH Sod Farm changed hands. Greenview Landscaping, a local landscaping company with over 20 years of experience, purchased AFH. As a result, AFH Sod Farm became AFH-Greenview Sod Farm. This management change served as a huge benefit to the sod farm. Not only did AFH have the farming knowledge but also now had a more complex knowledge of expectation of our customers. Our mission became to not only grow and sell sod but to produce a quality product we could be proud of. Production continued at the Highway 73 and the Huntersville-Concord farm for the next year.
In the fall of 2003, the leased land on Huntersville-Concord Rd was sold to a developer. This caused us to find a “home farm” yet once again. After weeks of searching, we found the perfect farm to call home. It was a 100 acre farm located right the outer edge of Iredell County on Patterson Farm Rd in Mooresville, North Carolina. In the summer of 2004, we left the farm on Highway 73 so we could focus attention on our new farm in Mooresville. We still call this farm home.
In the summer of 2005, in order to meet the demands of our customers, we purchased a second 300 acre farm in Chester, South Carolina. After a year of preparation, the Chester farm was ready for planting. In the fall of 2006, we planted tall-fescue. Due to the warmer climate and availability of land, we decided to expand our business even further by planting Bermuda grass during the summer of 2008. Having success with the Bermuda, in the spring of 2009, we planted Centipede grass.
