God please help each of us to remember that the scene that we are currently in is not the whole story. If everything is going great - that is not the story that is a scene. If everything is falling apart, everything is hurting, being destroyed, dying - that is not the story that is a scene.
When David was in hiding and Saul was trying to kill him, his own men get mad at him and want to kill him... That was a bad scene, but that was not the story. It is through the difficult times that David learned how to lead when he becomes King of Israel.
When Joseph was put in a pit by his brothers, sold as a slave to Potiphar, put in jail because he was lied about. His life seemed to be falling apart. But these were scenes, they were not the story. Joseph was in the place to interpret Pharaohs dream and be made second and command. Joseph gets the chance to forgive his brothers and bring the whole family into his care - thus saving the Israelites from famine.
When Jesus was killed on the cross. He was placed in a tomb. He died and everything that gives us hope and connection to God died. That was a horrible scene. But that is not the story. Without the death of Jesus - there would be no salvation...
When we allow our story to join God's story we become part of HISTORY... Everything that happens in our in our life is creating a story that will bring God Glory.
Today we are talking about the Shunammite Woman. She and her husband are old and beyond the years of having children. The woman reaches out and serves the man of God (Elisha). She builds a room on the roof for Elisha. What a scene.
Then God blesses her with her hearts desire. She has a son... That was a great scene.
A few short years later; the boy dies. He had been in the field with his father. He got a headache, returned home and lay in his mother's lap and he died... That was a difficult scene. But there is more to the story.
The Shunammite woman goes to the man of God, who returns, prays for the boy (2 times) and the boy comes back to life.
A scene is not the story. Our life is full of scenes that come together to make our story. Your current scene is part of the Story God is creating through you.
I am praying that our churches will be full of people creating a story scene by scene.
May you have a great SON Day and may your story be about the SON.
