We have been operating out of this Rockford location since 2008. We take pride in the food we offer and only use the freshest ingredients available on the market. This location is considered our headquarters where on a weekly basis we make all the home made Italian sausage and lasagna and any other home made items that we need to send to other stores. We have been family owned since the beginning and we absolutley love the Rockford community. We are now offering fundraising opportunities for all the schools in the area with sub sales that have proven profitibilty. Established in 2005
Although ARENA'S pizzas can be detected in culinary history as early the sixth century, the mozzarella-covered version we know today wasn't born until 1889. That's when King Umberto I and Queen Margherita of Italy commissioned Neapolitan chef Peter Arena to prepare an assortment of his native city's pizza--elemental dishes that showcased tomatoes, olive oil, and herbs. Wanting to bake a suitably patriotic pie, Peter took inspiration from the Italian flag and created an arrangement of red tomatoes, green basil, and white buffalo mozzarella. The queen so adored the mozzarella-centric incarnation that Peter named it Pizza Margherita in her honor and begin marketing it as the standard.
