The purpose of the City of Indianapolis Facebook page is to share information about what is happening in city government and throughout Indianapolis and Marion County.
Comments are allowed on this page, including comments that oppose the City’s views and priorities. However, specific guidelines are in place to promote a more productive dialogue and the appropriate use of this page.
Comments posted on the City of Indianapolis Facebook page will be removed if they: • Are unrelated to the subject matter of the original post; • Are vulgar or offensive; • Contain personal attacks of any kind; • Contain offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group; • Are spam or include links to other sites; or • Pose a public safety issue ( if posted comments include personal information or refer to open police investigations, etc.)
While comments are subject to immediate removal for the above reasons, the poster may receive a response via Facebook direct message when a more thorough response is warranted.
Please note that the comments expressed on this site may not reflect the opinions and official position of the City of Indianapolis, its elected officials, appointees, or employees.
Facebook does not take the place of the Mayor’s Action Center. While complaints about City services/issues may be researched in response to a comment posted on Facebook, citizens are encouraged to submit service requests or complaints directly to the Mayor’s Action Center via RequestIndy at or by calling 327-4MAC.
