Founder and President of Calligraphic Arts, Inc. Susie-Melissa Cherry, is known as a Master Calligrapher and Mentor in her profession. Her love for calligraphy is revealed in the intricate and delightful detail found in all of her handiwork. Enthusiasm for her art permeates the thousands of invitations and certificates she has created. Susie-Melissa discovered her amazing talent at the tender age of thirteen while participating in a calligraphy class in her school. It wasn't long before she was recognized by teachers and the principal's office. Her gift was already providing unique opportunities and the journey had begun. Her talent and expertise are well publicized, and the client list reads like a Who's Who. Susie-Melissa's work is heralded in Dallas, the United States, and the international community and her work has been commissioned by The White House, Buckingham Palace, the Vatican, the Adolphus Hotel, Southern Methodist University, the Bush Foundation, the George Bush Presidential Center, and numerous celebrities and corporations. Her exceptional talent for creating individualized presentations is celebrated around the world. She has an amazing gift for creating any lettering style, whether Script, Uncial, Old English, Round Hand, Gothic, and many others.

Susie-Melissa is an instructor and mentor to many, and is considered a master among her peers. She is actively involved in preserving and teaching the art form which she dearly loves, and has been instrumental in helping countless women launch their own successful careers in calligraphy. Prompted by an inquiry from the Dallas Morning News about a calligraphy guild in Dallas, Susie-Melissa launched KALIGRAFOS. KALIGRAFOS held its first meeting in 1978, and she subsequently served as the organization's first president. It has become the largest calligrapher's guild in Dallas providing support and instruction to numerous hand lettering enthusiasts.

Prior to launching Calligraphic Arts and Gift Wrap Studio, Susie-Melissa was the owner of Susie-Melissa, Inc and The Calligraphy House in Preston Center. Susie-Melissa, Inc and The Calligraphy House hosted many of the world's foremost calligraphers.

She currently teaches calligraphy at the Southern Methodist University Informal Education School. Her classes regularly fill to overflow. Coming soon, Susie-Melissa will offer online classes.
