In 1936, Junious Marchand started Marchand Transfer with the belief that heavy equipment rental, contracting, and hauling was vital to the construction industry. With his dedication to his beliefs, Marchand Transfer established itself as one of the most efficient and serviceable companies available in the area. In 1959, his son, Ray, took over the company. Marchand Transfer stood firm and focused well into the 1970's, when a new challenge presented itself. In 1976, Marchand Transfer was renamed Marchand Construction, Inc. in order to provide better support to the growing industrial and commercial demand of the Greater Baton Rouge area. Marchand Construction specializes in civil construction, heavy equipment hauling, and crane rentals.
Today, eighty-one years later, Marchand Construction, Inc. is owned and operated by third generations Ray Jr. and Mike Marchand. The family has maintained the values and beliefs of Junious Marchand and continued to serve the community with time honored tradition.
