Delivery & Pickup Options - 110 reviews of Sakana Sushi & Asian Bistro "After living in San Francisco for a while I became an avid Sushi fan and was really excited when this place opened up in downtown Wayzata. One of my friends was in town from New York so I thought this spot would be a perfect way to show off my hometown and for the most part, it was glorious.
When came in around 9 on a Thursday night and besides two other tables, we had the place to ourselves. The host (who I think might be the manager/owner) greeted us and was really friendly and seated us by the floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto Lake Minnetonka. He was extremely knowledgable about the saki and we wound up with a great bottle at a decent price.
We ordered the Wayzata Roll (because hello, where else can you get that?) and a bunch of Sashimi. All of it was excellent (including the presentation) and decently priced. In addition, the service was excellent and friendly.
One thing to note: Wayzata has a lot things going for it and some drawbacks. Pros: It's a beautiful town on Lake Minnetonka. Cons: For the most part, the restaurants/bars shut down pretty early; also, Wayzata = cougar central. You're pretty much in the mother of cougar dens here, so beware. That was probably the only downfall of this place. There were two cougs sitting at a table next to us and they were WASTED. And loud. And annoying. I kind of wanted to attack them with their Louis Vuitton purses by the end, to be honest. And looking back, I wish I would have asked them - or had the server to ask them - to settle down a bit because it was hard to hear my friend who was sitting two feet away from me. If it wasn't for that, I'd give it the full five ;
