The Scriptures do not promise a life without suffering or great trials for those who believe, but the Scriptures do promise that our God is present with us always. In fact, Jesus, God's only Son suffered unto death, that we might have abundant life in him forever through the power of the Holy Spirit. Shortly after Addison Bryan was born on June 30th, 2013 to proud parents, Benjamin and Hillary Bryan, they received word that their daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. Confused and heartbroken they reached out for prayers to navigate their trial. God was gracious to answer according to his word and the Bryans were blown away by people's offerings of prayers, encouragement, and financial support. Addison lived 19 miraculous months, even though doctors only gave her several weeks to live. During the grief and trial, God was doing a great work. Through the tragedy of Addison's diagnosis and death, the Lord brought Hillary to faith in Jesus Christ. One day, the Bryans will be resurrected unto eternal life with their daughter, Addison. Hillary was baptized into the faith at Bay Leaf on August 16, 2015. Now the Bryans are active members at Bay Leaf. Further, the Bryans felt led to start a foundation in Addison's memory to minister to other families in their time of trial. Every year in the summer, the Bryans hold a toy drive to bless children facing great trials in commemoration of Addison's birthday. Praise God for His Amazing work in the lives of his people! Resurrecting beauty from ashes. If you would like to learn more about the Addison Bryan Foundation and their work to bless others and advocate for the childhood cancer community, or if you feel led to support the toy drive happening this month please visit http://www.addisonbryanfoundation.org/upcomingevents/ God is always at work. Let us celebrate the ways that he is working through his people at Bay Leaf!
