United Way brings people together from all across the community: government, businesses, faith groups, non-profits, the labor movement, and ordinary citizens – to tackle issues mattering most to all of us – producing positive and meaningful results.
We are a volunteer-driven organization raising and distributing funds for community needs. Funds are raised through workplace campaigns, special events, corporate and planned giving programs, and individual gifts.
After taking into careful consideration all of the needs of the community, funds are allocated to specific programs. The volunteer review process operates on a strict system of checks and balances that ensures results are achieved.
Our special initiatives include the Success by 6® program, Volunteer Action Center, Labor Participation Council, and the Northeastern Regional HIV Planning Coalition.
