How do you treat head lice or pediculosis? What are the most effective treatments against these noxious pests? These are questions that drove Elizabeth Solovay and Dr. Elin Cohen, two mothers with seven children between them, to found the Lice Treatment Center.

The two Ivy-league educated women came together to devise more effective head lice treatment and prevention methods for handling outbreaks and lice infestations. Dr. Cohen is a board certified pediatrician who researched and developed a safe and comprehensive lice removal methodology, which includes the Jolis Cheveux™ by LTC line of products currently used by LTC's lice technicians.


As both the mother of two children and a medical professional, Dr. Cohen was determined to formulate a line of products that would be both safe and effective in combating head lice, their nits (eggs), and young offspring (nymphs). As a result, the all-natural lice treatment and prevention products in the Jolis Cheveux™ by LTC line are some of the most effective on the market.



Dr. Cohen is a practicing pediatrician, who holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and a medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. She completed her residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City and a fellowship at Yale University.


LTC co-founder and president, Elizabeth Solovay, holds a degree in organization and management from Yale University and has five children. As LTC's spokesperson, Solovay has been featured by media outlets, including The New York Times and "LX New York," a television show produced by NBC Local Media subsidiary LX. TV and NBC 4. In addition to managing LTC's national operations, Solovay is also an avid swimmer and runner and nationally ranked squash player.
