St. Jude the Apostle School is located in Westlake Village. We are a Catholic school within the Santa Barbara Region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools. Established in 1982 as the vision of the founding pastor, Monsignor Thomas O’Connell, the Sisters of Notre Dame oversaw the direct administration of the school with kindergarten through second grade classes being conducted in the parish hall. The main part of the campus was completed in 1985, and enrollment grew to 200 students in kindergarten through fifth grades. An additional grade was added to the school in subsequent years until the full student body, kindergarten through eighth grade, of 300 students occupied the school. St. Jude the Apostle graduated its first eighth grade class in 1989.

The school had several Sisters of Notre Dame as principals and then there was a transition to lay principals with the longest term being held by Mrs. Jenny Long. The school is now in its 34th year, and there are now alumni who have enrolled their children in the school as well as alumni who are back as teachers and staff.
