Presentation School Foundation Inc

The Presentation School Foundation (PSF) is a non-profit, secular organization formed by a grassroots community group in response to the closing of Our Lady of the Presentation Elementary School in 2004.

PSF’s mission is to strengthen Boston’s diverse Allston-Brighton neighborhood by providing affordable educational and related community services, which will promote family and community stability.


PSF is about Community

PSF's goal is to create a community center that will serve all the people of Allston-Brighton, from the lifelong resident to the newest immigrant.

Since 2004, we have hosted and organized community events that draw families together. Through these events, PSF has helped maintain a sense of stability in this rapidly changing neighborhood.


PSF is about Educational and Community Services

PSF envisions year-round, full-day programs that will bring children, families, and the community at large back into the building. Services are expected to include a preschool, community health programs, an adult day health program, adult education, and programs for recent immigrants. The community meeting spaces will serve as a home for local groups, from the Girl Scouts to the Garden Club.


PSF is about Children

The anchor of the building will be the Urban Early Education Initiative, an extraordinary early education program featuring Little Sprouts pre-school, local public broadcasting leader WGBH, and Wheelock College.

The Urban Early Education Initiative will feature multi-media curricula designed by WGBH to build the reading and science literacy of preschoolers, and an extensive professional development program designed by Wheelock College incorporating workshops, online courses, best-practice videos and ongoing mentoring.

The Urban Early Education Initiative will serve more than 140 middle- and low-income Allston-Brighton children.
