considered one of the world’s “top guns” in the custom
automotive painting industry.
Adding to his accomplishments, he is a certified scuba diver,
a freelance writer for numerous trade magazines and a gifted
speaker,
instructor and featured artist at major events worldwide.
Dennis Mathewson’s unprecedented style is highly prized

He has been a professional artist for over 40 years. As a naturally
artistic kid, back in the 70's, he started
in Las Vegas with his first airbrush in 1973 and after only a few
years he went to work as an airbrush artist at the Rat's Hole for
the late founder, Karl Smith.
Relocating to Honolulu Hawaii in 1980, where he stills lives
and paints today. Not only is he a top selling fine artist in
Hawaii today, he is also a certified “PPG Master Painter” in
industrial finishes he had also created his own signature
series industrial colors “Hawaiian Hues” as well as Iwata
Medea/Artool’s Bubble FX, Tiki Master, Wood grain FX and
Kanji Master airbrush templates. He is also the designer
and creator of Direct Moulding’s DM Dzign picture frame
moulding seen in over 1000 framing stores nationally. His
collectable artwork work can also be seen on numerous
licensed products worldwide.
