Luke 9:23 says, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
There are two crosses in our lives: Jesus' cross and our cross. Jesus cross is what provides salvation for us-- His death on our behalf. We have to accept this forgiveness offered by him through FAITH alone by GRACE alone.
But it doesn't end there! A true Christian is one whose life is then transformed by Jesus. This involves taking up OUR cross. Denying ourselves. And following Him.
It's a high calling and a tall order, but there's nothing in the world that can compare to knowing and following Jesus.
