Archuleta’s Reel Works was established in 1984 in Santa Rosa, California from a need for quality professional repair work on broken or neglected fishing reels. I have been fishing all my life and have been repairing and maintaining my own reels and those of my friends for many years. I graduated from San Jose State College with a in Industrial Education, and my career as a prototype machinist for a large company enabled me to manufacture reel parts that were no longer available. What began as a hobby became a part time small business. Since I am a devout fly fisherman, I decided to specialize in fly reels only and now do repair work for many fly shops and individuals throughout the world. Having recently retired from my full time job, I have relocated to Grants Pass, Oregon, and am devoting all my time to the reel business. I work on all types of fly reels, old and new, including Hardy, Scientific Angler, Ross and Orvis and have secured all the remaining parts for Streamline. I am also the designated national repair station for Marryat. I can deliver expert diagnostic trouble shooting to arrive at a practical solution for most reel woes, and I personally attend to each and every reel. The manufacturing of my own line of fly reels is on a special order basis. These reels range in size from trout to tarpon and are one of a kind, individually built to the customer’s desires and numbered. I take pride in performing fine, quality artistry in creating these pieces. The Archuleta Reel would make a very special gift to yourself or someone you love.
