"Catch the Spirit" of the Beargrease, a 400 mile annual sled dog race that starts in Duluth, MN. The race runs along Lake Superior's rugged North Shore Trail to the Canadian border. Checkpoints include: Billy's, Two Harbors, Finland, Tofte (mid distance race finish), Sawbill, Trail Center, Devil Track and finishes at Billy's in Duluth, MN. It's the longest race in the lower 48 states. The associated Mid-Distance race is approximately 106 miles, ending in Tofte, MN. In 2015 race events begin with the Gala Dinner on January 23 and culminate with the Marathon Finisher's' banquet on January 29, 2015. Race start is January 25th at East High School in Duluth, MN.
