This fall the employees at American Nuclear Insurers participated in several charity events to help our local community. In October, a group of 9 employees went into Hartford to help with a build for Habitat for Humanity. We spent the day hammering, sawing, and framing walls for a family that will move into the home in the spring. During November we hosted the “Taste of ANI”. Employees brought in their favorite appetizers and finger foods. For a donation to the United Way we gathered for this potluck and enjoyed all the delicious food. Also in November, through the end of December, we hosted casual dress day to help Veterans in need. For a donation of new, warm clothing to American Legion Post 54 employees are able to wear jeans during the holiday season. We gathered a large assortment of warm coats, pants, hats, and more that will directly impact homeless and displaced Veterans in need in Connecticut. December also brought our annual holiday door contest. We’ve enjoyed coming together as a team to benefit our community and charity organizations that directly impact families around us. We look forward to continuing this good work in the New Year and beyond.

In September 2015, American Nuclear Insurers, in partnership with United Way, sponsored a building-wide school supply drive. According to the United Way, thousands of children in the Hartford area start school each year lacking some of the critical supplies they need to do well in school. Through the generosity of ANI employees and the other companies at 95 Glastonbury Blvd we will be delivering a large box of notebooks, binders, glue and other supplies necessary to help Hartford children learn to read, improve academic achievement and develop the skills they need to become successful adults. Last year through United Way programs like these, 4,600 youth improved skills needed for academic success. Through ANI’s continued commitment to our local community and the United Way, we hope to contribute even more in 2015 and 2016.

The International Nuclear Insurance Pools have developed a series of International Engineering Survey Guidelines to achieve quality risk surveys and to inform our insured about nuclear insurers’ expectations. Nuclear Safety Culture is a cross functional entity, and it is important that all surveyors – covering NSO TPL, Fire Protection and Machinery Breakdown - are aware of, and can observe and make judgements on the maturity of Nuclear Safety Culture within an organisation or site.
