What is it like to volunteer with ASP? goo.gl/ylD7sx

49 summers ago Glenn "Tex" Evans had a dream to make Central Appalachia a better place. Today that dream lives on in 26 counties, with thousands of volunteers each year, and hundreds of homes repaired in the region. If Tex could see all that ASP has become, we know it would mean the world to him. We thank each and every one of you for your constant support of our ministry, we invite you to give generously today in honor of the man who started it all for us. Happy Birthday Tex, we love you #giveTex #asphome #myASPstory

We are excited to announce that this afternoon ASP won our second Tennessee Best Award in the category of Remarkable Achievement—Rural, at the Governor’s Housing Summit in Nashville, TN. The award honored ASP’s role in disaster recovery for low-income residents in Sevier County, Tennessee, after the wildfires of November 2016 that swept through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Kim Grant Brown presented the award and spoke of ASP’s achievement during the presentation stating, “ASP started quickly and without hesitation when wildfires destroyed almost 2,000 buildings in Sevier county late last year.” Thank you all for your constant support of our work and helping make days like today happen! #asphome #TNBestAward #loveinaction #aspsevier

Celebrate Tex Evans' Birthday (September 23rd) by donating to ASP, or better yet, offer to host a Texgiving dinner with your friends to collect donations for ASP and share your ASP story with people on Tex's Birthday. #texgiving could be a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in September, a summer take on Thanksgiving fare, or just a summer cookout. Whatever it takes to get people together, discuss the work ahead in Central Appalachia, and raise funds. Try to donate at least $49 for the 49 summers ASP has served the people of Appalachia.
