How I Got Here – By the time Roland Gillette Jr. joined the nursing staff at the Bayhealth Milford Memorial Emergency Department, he already had two other careers under his belt with the U.S. Air Force and Kraft. Five years ago, Gillette realized he missed the impact he made while with the military, so he went to nursing school. “I strive to keep in mind that one essential part of nursing is caring – taking a moment to slow down and listen to my patients. Nursing is a mixture of skill, training, assessing, and providing care. Being able to use the right balance of these traits makes nursing an art.”
