Villa Park Electrical Supply

Villa Park Electrical Supply Co., Inc. was founded by Michael Favia Sr. in November, 1973.

Our family business history is an immigrant story that is representative of a particular area of our American culture. Michael Favia Sr. was born near Bari, Italy. A sub-chief electrician in the Italian Navy, he was discharged in 1957 after he met and married Stella Mariano while on leave in the United States. He found his first job at a lamp factory where he worked for the first two years. Young and ambitious, he meanwhile managed to get authorization from the electrical union to work as a journeyman electrician. In 1966, he received his license to work as a self-employed electrician. He immediately started Favia Electric Company, a union shop electrical contracting company. Among other business endeavors, he went on to open Villa Park Electrical Supply Company, Inc. in 1973. It was not long before his five children started working at the electrical supply during school breaks. To avoid causing a conflict of interest, the family eventually made the decision to close the contracting company and, instead to put all of their energy into running and expanding the electrical supply company. The rest has become our history, which we are proud to share with you.

As we enter our 34th year in business, Villa Park Electrical Supply Co., Inc. is still independently owned and operated by four of the Favia family siblings; RoseAnn, Antonette, Michael M. and Anthony.
