First Night Monterey is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that conducts year-round community outreach and arts education workshops culminating at our landmark New Year’s Eve community celebration of the arts in historic downtown Monterey. First Night Monterey’s mission is to foster the public’s appreciation of visual and performing arts and celebrate families and community through workshops and the New Year‘s Eve celebration. Activities are funded in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
