REMINDER!! SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE DUE IN THE ADAMS REC OFFICE BY JANUARY 31!!!!! SCHOLARSHIPS ADAMS RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE will again be offering scholarships to graduating seniors from this area who have made the choice to continue their education. To be eligible to apply, the student must have: -A parent or guardian who is a residential member of the Cooperative, receiving service from August 2017-June 2018; -All basic credits for college or proper vocational or technical school; -A current career grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4-point scale or better; and -Be accepted to an accredited college or proper vocational/technical school (must be enrolled at the time the award is issued). Adams REC scholarship awards for 2018 will total $4,300. A total of five scholarships will be awarded. First place scholarship will be $1,200;second-place will be $1,000; third place will be $800; fourth place will be $700; and fifth place will be $600. The deadline for submission of an application to the office is January 31, 2018. Students can get an application from their guidance counselor, at the co-op office or online at (application may be completed online and printed, but not saved). Be sure to attach a current transcript, that includes grades for this school year. The first-place winner from Adams will then be eligible to compete for an Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc. Scholarship for Children of Consumers, with a chance to win a scholarship for an amount up to $3,600!

Gary Tolle (Swifty) retires after 21 years of service Adams Rural Electric trustees, management, staff and employees celebrated the retirement of Gary Tolle, along with members of his family, on January 9. Gary was presented with a gift by General Manager, Bill Swango and Board President, Stephen Huff. Then, with an abundance of delicious food, an awesome cake and good camaraderie everyone appeared to have a good time. Gary began his career at Adams on Feb. 7, 1996 as a Journeyman Tree Trimmer. He retired from Adams on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 after nearly 22 years of service. Gary and his wife, Regina, are anxious to begin this next chapter in their lives. Gary said, “It sure is going to be different”. We wish Gary the best, and trust that he will enjoy a healthy and happy retirement.

Adams Rural Electric will be closed on Christmas Day: Monday, December 25, 2017, so that the employees can spend time with their families. Adams Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. is accepting resumes to fill an Electrical Lineman position. Position is full-time with an excellent pay and benefits package.
