Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist Church is a contemporary Southern Baptist Church located one mile West on Kingston Pike from the University of Tennessee.



Church-Wide Gatherings

- Our Main Gathering on Sunday mornings at 10:45am (in the Main Auditorium) starts with a great blend of music led by a contemporary praise band and singers. The messages will engage your mind and heart. You will probably laugh a little and also learn how God's word is relevant to where you are.


- Calvary Café on Wednesday nights at 5:15pm (in the Café below the Main Auditorium) is the perfect spot for you to get a great home-cooked meal, hang out with friendly people, and learn how to apply the Bible to your life. We serve dinner at 5:15pm and have a Bible study led by Senior Pastor Dan Riley at 6:30pm in the same place.


Church Ministries

- Adults: At Calvary, we have many ministries focused on helping you grow where you are in life: 20-Somethings, Marriage Builders {young married}, Life Builders {Adults <35}, Adults mid-30s - mid-40s, Adults 40-49, Adults 50-59, and Adults >60.


- College: The Calvary College Ministry {C2 Ministry} is centered on developing intimacy with God, community with believers, and influence on others. We have a special College Service called "Catalyst" Sunday mornings at 9:15am with free breakfast in the Student Center. We also have a residential leadership program for male and female students looking to further develop their personal ministry gifts.


- Students/Youth: The Calvary Student Ministry {CSM} exists to lead students to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. All of our weekly events take place in our Student Center, which is across the street from the main campus. We have a Student Service called "Quake" Wednesdays from 6:15-7:30pm. Quake is a worship experience on that includes music, a message from God's Word, and small group time. On Sunday nights, our students gather for "Fuse," an exciting ministry, worship, and community experience for students Sundays from 5:30-7:00pm.


- Children: We desire to see our children grow up knowing Jesus as their personal Savior, knowing the Bible so that they can impact the culture and world around them, and enjoy where they are in their lives right now - KIDS! There are ministry opportunities for kids ages Birth-5th grade. Come see what's happening this week!



Community Groups

- A Community Group is a gathering of 8-12 people who commit to meet weekly at a specific time and location for the purpose of building relationships, encouraging one another, learning together and praying for one another. At Calvary, we feel community groups are the best way to grow together towards Christ with friends, experience life together, and avoid getting lost in a big congregation. It’s a great place to explore, ask questions, get to know other people, and grow in your faith.



Missions

- We are a missions-minded church, focused on outreach to our community, our nation, and the world. We have been called to the mission field at the University of Tennessee, which is why we are located so near to downtown in the heart of Sequoyah Hills. We also focus on missions from New York City to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and send members out for God's mission all across the world.
