Welldiggers 2018 9 degrees, 52 miles. That's enough for today. Had a great time - thanks all for coming out and sharing in the fun. Same time next year? My fingers will be thawed by then... :)

1959 Norton Jubilee 250 $9450 At the end of day, we have to sit back and appreciate bikes like this. It can be argued that these were an answer to a question that no one was asking, but it can't be denied that the British manufacturers were willing to try to increase sales through diversification. They just weren't diversifying in the right way, probably. Ahead of its time and now mostly forgotten. Shame, really.

Every year I make the same resolution: make more time to ride. In the midwest, it can be difficult to find a full 8 months or so to ride, but let's make the best of it! Come on out for our 2nd Annual Welldiggers ride on Saturday, January 13th. All makes, all models welcome. Refreshments will be served, then we'll take a brisk jaunt over to scenic Pisgah, IA. Bundle up and let's resolve to spin more tires more often in 2018!

Despite the fact that he's riding a BMW, Santa promises all of your gifts will arrive on time. If he was riding a Triumph, you'd probably have them already :) Happy Holidays to all of you! Stay warm, stay safe, and we'll meet on the road in 2018!

The last of the line... As Royal Enfield prepares its next wave of bikes to come to our shores, I bid a fond "adieu" to the 535 Continental GT (soon to be replaced with the highly anticipated Continental GT 650). I took this '14 (first year) GT for a spin today after installing a genuine Conti muffler. In the grand scheme of things, a production run of 4 years isn't bad, but in Enfield terms, that's less than the blink of an eye for a manufacturer whose main bread and butter (the venerable Bullet) has been in continuous production since 1931. Long live the GT!
